School Season: How many total guests can Rockbridge accommodate?

Rockbridge can house up to 448 guests in camper dorms, 116 guests in the work crew dorms and 56 guests in adult housing.



School Season: Is there a minimum number of required guests?

For exclusive use of the property, Rockbridge requires a minimum of 325 paying guests. For primary use of the property, we require a minimum of 250 paying guests. In this instance, we reserve the right to book another smaller group at the same time.



School Season: Will each guest need to bring linens or a sleeping bag?

Rockbridge provides a blanket and a pillow for each bed. Linens (sheets, towels and pillowcases) may be provided for an additional fee. If your group chooses not to rent these additional items from us, then each guest will need to bring linens or a sleeping bag. Linens are always provided in the Adult Guest Lodge and Walton's Mountain.



School Season: What staffing is the group responsible for providing?

WORK CREW: Rockbridge asks each group to provide wait staff, cooks, bakers, dishwashers and snack bar operators. Please bring a ratio of one work crew person for every 10 paying guests up to a maximum of 50, including one work crew boss. 

MEDICAL PERSONNEL:  A doctor, physician’s assistant, nurse or EMT must be provided by the group.

LIFEGUARD:  If the pool is to be used, please bring one certified lifeguard.

PROGRAM TECH:  If the audio-visual equipment is to be used, please bring one program technician.

CAMP MANAGER:  There must be one person designated as the camp manger who is responsible for the management, operation and supervision during their stay. This person also serves  as the  primary contact for each group.



School Season: Is the group expected to help clean up at the end of their stay?

Your assistance with clean up helps keep our rates affordable. We ask that each group take all dirty linens to the laundry, fold all blankets, bag any trash, return furniture that may have been moved to its original location and sweep the cabins and lounge areas of each dorm. In addition, a general camp sweep of all common areas for trash and lost and found items would be appreciated.



School Season: What is the cost for a retreat or conference at Rockbridge?

School Season: I am ready to reserve a date. What is my next step?
Contact our reservations coordinator. Once an available date has been agreed upon and a contract has been signed, you will be sent a Guest Group Planning Packet that will assist with the details of your stay at Rockbridge.


Summer Camp: What are the ages of campers who can attend Rockbridge in the summer?
Rockbridge offers both high school  middle school camping. High school campers must have completed one year of high school. Middle school campers must have completed one year of middle school.


Summer Camp: How do I register for summer camp?
Reservations for summer camp are made through local Young Life area offices. Contact information for Young Life offices is available on the Young Life Web site. 


Work Crew: How do I apply for work crew in the summer?
Work crew is a month long volunteer opportunity for those in high school. To be eligible a student must have completed one year of high school and his or her local area’s work crew training course. The work crew serves the campers in the following ways: dining hall serves, housekeepers, groundskeepers and dishwashers. A work crew application begins with a Young Life staff ​recommendation. The deadline for work crew applications is March 15. However, any spots not filled by work crew quota will be made available mission wide after March 15.
